Antonia Chick Photography came to Phototropic for a website that let her sell her photography prints, display her work as well as control her own content with SetSeed.

Antonia heard about us from Limited Company Band, who we've worked with for both web design and filmmaking projects. One of the reasons she came to us was because she'd heard about SetSeed and how easy it makes controlling her own content.

Having worked on a number of photography websites in the past, I enjoyed working on Antonia's site. She wanted a very 'clean' look to the site, giving her pictures the space to come across on the website.

Another requirement we had from Antonia was the she wanted to be able to offer a simple checkout system for her clients to purchase prints from a gallery. Because SetSeed has a PayPal shop, image gallery and password protection built in, we were able to set up her site to achieve this with ease.

SetSeed features used by Antonia Chick Photography:

Images and image galleries

Blog system to post news and updates

Contact forms

Flexible shop system to sell photo prints

Password protection for pages

Automatic version control and drafts

This is what Antonia Chick said about our service:

I couldn't be happier with my website. I presented Phototropic with a fairly vague initial brief yet I was amazed at how Ben actually seemed to understand me and picture what it was that I wanted. When I first saw the finished mock up, it was exactly as I had seen it in my head. Brilliant. Using my site couldn't be easier - even for the slightly more technically challenged such as myself! I have total control and can instantly update my site at any time - I can literally take a photo, edit it and add it to my site and see the result in real time. The training videos that are provided are excellent and comprehensive and the general support from Phototropic is brilliant. Very happy!

Horticultural polythene product wholesaler XL Horticulture came to Phototropic for a redesign as well as to control their own content with SetSeed.

I came up with a design which reflected the earthy and natural environment their products are used in. Their audience will be more familiar with how their products are used, than how they are made. I therefore felt it was important to identify their audience in this way, rather than focus on the technical background of the products themselves.

The site features a three-colour pallet: sky blue for the header, plant greens for the central section, and earthy brown for the footer. I also incorporated a earthy texture theme throughout as well as utilised a prismatic effect in the header as a reference to the ability of XL Horticulture's products to filter out various light frequencies.

SetSeed features used by XL Horticulture:

Intuitive, task-based interface

Add images, videos, slideshows and galleries to pages

Interactive calendar to add events in multiple categories

Contact forms

Blog system with authors, categories and comments

RSS feeds for the blog as well as comments

Automatic version control and drafts

This is what Les Lane from XL Horticulture said about us:

We worked with Phototropic to produce our new website. They listened to us and came up with a format we absolutely love. Since launching the new website we have had lots of compliments on how clean and friendly it is, but still very informative. We would recommend Phototropic to anybody.

Dr. Simon Foxall needed a new website for his new company, Focus on Sound, designed and built to promote and sell his music dictionary software programs.

As with any product launch, promotional content is likely to change frequently, therefore Simon knew he needed the ability to change his own content. SetSeed, our Content Management System (which we also sell as a white-label CMS product to the industry), let's him do this with ease.

We worked closely with Simon to achieve the clean and stylish look that he wanted from his new website. Simon wanted to use a grey-scale colour pallet, which meant for a challenging but rewarding design process.

This is what Simon Foxall from Focus on Sound said about us:

We were lucky to find Ben. He's highly talented and very easy to work with. His system was perfect for us. First he designed a superb website, then with SetSeed he gave us a means of editing and updating that is flexible and easy to use. He has also good-humouredly been prepared to put up with what must have seemed like endless requests for additional features and tweaks. He is the ideal website designer.
